DraftKings adds live streams to mobile app
US operator expands partnership with Sportradar to bring real-time games to handheld devices
DraftKings has expanded its partnership with Sportradar to bring livestreaming capabilities to its mobile app.
DraftKings customers with more than $0.00 in their account will be able to directly livestream content within their mobile app for the first time. All jurisdictions will be able to access the streams, bar Iowa.
Earlier this month, DraftKings secured US streaming rights for the German Bundesliga, and this, along with several other competitions, will all be available for DraftKings customers.
The company also said that it would explore the potential expansion opportunities of the live-stream functionality, hinting towards additional content or technological advancements.
Ezra Kucharz, DraftKings’ chief business officer, noted the move to bring live streams to the mobile app was accelerated by the current coronavirus pandemic.
Kucharz said: “With a focus on innovation, we are excited to further enhance our product offerings to include a convenient, state-of-the-art experience through live entertainment.
“At this difficult time for sports fans across the nation, we have extended our partnership with Sportradar to bring customers the best in-app experience from the safety and comfort of their homes, and closer to the games and players they love,” he added.
Neele Deely, VP of US sales and gaming for Sportradar, said: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with DraftKings to include livestreaming in their mobile app. We share DraftKings’ vision to deliver the best possible betting entertainment experience to US bettors, and we look forward to continuing to innovate together.”
