Continent 8 Technologies opens second data hub in West Virginia
New space in Petersburg to allow supplier to deliver “true disaster recovery and enhanced business continuity” to its partners as further expansion plans confirmed

Continent 8 Technologies has opened a second data center in West Virginia as the cybersecurity supplier continues to expand in North America.
The firm has unveiled its latest hub in Petersburg in partnership with the Seneca Rocks Regional Development Authority, some 200 miles from the group’s original South Charleston site.
Continent 8 cut the ribbon on the South Charleston site back in 2018 as it laid the groundwork to support partners ahead of online sports betting’s launch in the state that year.
The new hub will see Continent 8 add “true disaster recovery and enhanced business continuity” to its product suite for operator partners in the Mountain State.
Continent 8 is currently live in 30 US states, with the company noting a “significant investment” planned to expand its multi-site footprint.
Additionally, the company has received approval from the West Virginian regulator for its Public Cloud solution.
Michael Tobin, Continent 8 CEO, said: “We are thrilled to have added a second site, allowing us to expand our offering to include disaster recovery, as well as our approved Public Cloud solution in our original site, further establishing Continent 8 as the leading infrastructure provider in the North American market.
“Infrastructure is the foundation operators and suppliers need to succeed, and that’s why the biggest players come to Continent 8.
“Our solutions, customer service, reputation, and experience are unrivalled,” he added.
Last week, Continent 8 revealed there had a been a sharp downturn in DDoS attacks against its customers in Q4 as malicious actors cut back against a 2022 comparison of the World Cup and busy Christmas schedule.
