
Continent 8 approved for Pennsylvania operations
Supplier to provide in-state data centres and network services to operators within the state


Data solutions provider Continent 8 has been authorised to provide Pennsylvania gambling operators with the use of its data centres and network services.
The announcement comes ahead of Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board executive Kevin O’Toole revealing that egaming would officially be launched in the state in July.
The supplier has two data centres already located within the state, allowing for both primary and disaster recovery operations.
Continent 8 CEO Michael Tobin said: “The new opportunities for gaming operators, including online sports betting companies, will require a partner like Continent 8 that is knowledgeable and delivers expeditious results.
“The upcoming launch date for mobile online casino and sports betting only increases the urgency to set up operations now,” Tobin said.
It plans to launch further operations in states as they regulate and presently provides multi-state connectivity including Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey and West Virginia.
This week Pennsylvania reported sports betting revenues of $5.5m and handle of $44.5m in March at its eight locations.
River Casino led the pack with an income of $1.3m and handle of $11.9m.
At present mobile betting in the state is still yet to launch.
