Chris Johnson joins BetMGM as brand ambassador
Former Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals running back joins growing list of sports stars in sports betting

BetMGM has recruited former NFL running back Chris Johnson as its newest brand ambassador.
Known as “CJ2K”, Johnson played for the Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals, becoming only one of eight players in NFL history to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards in a single season.
Johnson will feature in BetMGM’s upcoming marketing campaigns, promotions, social media content, and fan events.
He joins other BetMGM brand ambassadors including NBA star Kevin Garnett, Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx, NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, and NFL Superbowl champion Marshawn Lynch.
Addressing the appeal of BetMGM’s newest brand ambassador, BetMGM chief revenue officer Matt Prevost said: “Throughout his career, Chris Johnson thrilled fans with his performance on the football field, week in and week out.
“As we continue to expand BetMGM’s presence in Arizona and Tennessee, Chris will play a key role in helping us provide new and engaging experiences for our customers,” Prevost added.
Last month, BetMGM revealed its expectation to generate a five-fold increase in annual net gaming revenue (NGR) to $200m during the third quarter of 2021.
According to the latest data provided by JV parent company Entain, BetMGM has achieved a 23% market share in sports betting and igaming during the three months to August.
BetMGM has also portrayed itself as the US market leader in igaming with 32% market share in the three months to August.
The brand accrued $357m in NGR during the first half of 2021 and has a guidance target of $1bn by 2022, which it is on track to exceed.
