CG Technology to launch NJ sportsbook product

Operator plans to have the online product live in the Garden State by the next NFL season

CG Technology (CGT) has announced plans to produce an online betting product in New Jersey after securing a licensing deal with Meadowlands Racetrack.

The deal is subject to approval by the New Jersey Division of Gaming, but if approved the product will be live before the next NFL season.

CGT was the first company to provide mobile betting in Nevada and supplies betting terminals to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Tropicana and Palms Casino Resort.

Parikshat Khanna, CEO of CGT, said: “As an early mover in the Nevada sports wagering business, we always envisioned national expansion that would give American consumers more product options.”

In August last year CGT was fined $250,000 by the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and forced to leave the state after allowing individuals situated outside Nevada to place sports bets.

Chairman and CEO of New Meadowlands Racetrack Jeff Gural said: “We are confident CGT, with its years of experience, will bring some new and inventive offerings that will appeal to the New Jersey online and mobile sports wagering market.”

CGT is the third sports betting licensing partner for the Meadowlands, meaning the track cannot launch its own betting brand.
