Bo Wänghammar named PokerStars Casino MD
Former Mr Green chief executive to join Stars’ parent company Amaya from next month

Rational Group has appointed Mr Green’s Bo Wänghammar as the new managing director of its PokerStars Casino brand.
Wänghammar, who most recently served as business development director at Mr Green & Co, will join Stars’ parent company Amaya on 1 February and assume responsibility for the overall casino business.
He will report into Amaya and Rational Group CEO, Rafi Ashkenazi, who described Wänghammar as a “great addition” to Rational’s senior management team.
“Not only does he have great experience in growing an online casino brand from the ground up, but he has management talent across a range of industries,” Ashkenazi said.
Before his current role at Mr Green, Wänghammar was CEO of its operating company, Mr. Green Ltd., for more than two years.
Previously, he held senior roles at bwin.party, online opticians Lensway and newspaper publisher Metro International.
“I’m looking forward to taking PokerStars Casino to the next level of growth,” said Wänghammar.
“As one of the largest and fastest growing online casinos in the world, PokerStars Casino has great potential which I’m eager to deliver on.”
The appointment also means that Amaya’s Sam Hobcraft, who has held the role of managing director of casino for more than three years, will be leaving the company.
A PokerStars representative said: “Sam is seeking new opportunities and will leave at the end of the month. We wish Sam all the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his efforts in launching our online casino.”
