Betty secures ex-Fanatics VP as new CFO with COO and compliance chief confirmed
Canadian operator adds the services of Dan Evans as finance lead while internal promotions build out C-suite before the turn of the year

Betty has strengthened its C-suite with the appointments of a new CFO, COO, and chief compliance officer (CCO) after the female- and slots-focused operator named a new Canada CEO in October.
Firstly, the Ontario-focused business has added former Fanatics and FanDuel head Dan Evans as CFO in the only external hire as part of the C-suite revamp.
Evans served as vice president of finance for Fanatics Betting and Gaming from November 2022 to June 2024, having previously been XLMedia’s vice president of commercial finance and FanDuel’s senior director for commercial finance.
The former EY employee also spent time with Sky Betting and Gaming and The Stars Group earlier in his career.
Emil Yordanov has been promoted from his position as vice president of operations to COO, having initially joined Betty in September 2023 from Soft2Bet.
The new COO spent almost five years with Entain across a series of risk and operations roles from July 2017 to April 2022 before joining Genesis Global and moving to Soft2Bet as director of risk, fraud, KYC, and AML.
Finally, Aneliya Vu has stepped up from her previous role as head of compliance to become CCO.
She originally moved to Betty in November 2023, having spent more than four years with Mansion Group in several compliance and safer gambling positions.
Evans will be based in Toronto, while Yordanov and Vu are located in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital.
The trio’s appointments come after Betty named Chavdar Dimitrov as its Canada CEO in October.
Dimitrov said: “I am excited to announce the new additions to our senior leadership team: Aneliya, Emil, and Dan.
“Each of them brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in the industry, which will propel Betty forward.
“I have complete confidence in their ability to inspire our teams and to deliver on our ambitious plans for 2025 and beyond.
“This is an exciting time for our company, and I look forward to the incredible progress we will make together.”
