Betr makes it three with Virginia online sports betting launch
Micro-betting operator to offer V0 sportsbook product in Old Dominion State ahead of Chameleon-powered V1 launch in 2024

Emerging micro-betting operator Betr has confirmed the launch of a real-money sportsbook offering in Virginia, following the receipt of a license from the Virginia Lottery.
The launch utilizes the inaugural version of the Betr sportsbook, V0, the platform used in the operator’s other two active sportsbook states, Ohio and Massachusetts, which both launched earlier this year.
At present, the company is engaged in developing the V1 sportsbook, due to launch in existing and new states across the US in the first half of 2024.
Betr V1 will utilize technology derived from the acquisition of the Chameleon technology platform, acquired from FansUnite Entertainment in May.
Chameleon offers a full suite of gaming solutions, including player account management (PAM), sports betting engine, and casino management, with the company already achieving Gaming Labs International certification in multiple US jurisdictions.
As part of the Virginia launch, Betr has revealed it will include its Scripts product, which aims to combine micro-betting with longer-odds parlay betting.
“This product is a first-of-its-kind experience and effectively introduces instant gratification to parlays, which may make Scripts one of the primary ways fans bet on sports over time,” the operator said in a press release.
Betr’s app also includes a new UI, which displays markets available as more intuitive multiple-choice questions, while odds are displayed in easy-to-understand payout multiples aiming to simplify users’ sports betting experience.
Betr founder and CEO Joey Levy welcomed the launch of the Betr sportsbook in Virginia just ahead of the new NFL season starting on September 7.
“Virginia will be the final state where we launch V0 of the Betr sportsbook, before rolling out our V1 sportsbook product in existing and new states next year,” Levy said.
“The state has a dynamic fan base across both collegiate and professional sports and we are excited to introduce our differentiated product experience to this market while continuing to bring our leadership in responsible gaming to Virginia, just as we have done in other jurisdictions,” he added.
