
BetMGM teams up with Cheddar News to launch new show
‘Cheddar Bets’ will air weekly and delve into intersection of sports betting and business

BetMGM and Cheddar News are partnering to launch a new sports betting show on the digital-first news network.
The weekly program, Cheddar Bets, will shine a spotlight on the intersection of the sports betting and financial markets.
As part of the deal, BetMGM will become the exclusive sports betting partner of Cheddar News. The betting operator will also be prominently featured on the show, which will broadcast from a custom-built BetMGM studio in New York and use the weekly sports calendar as a launchpad to dive into the sports betting market and its impact on Wall Street.
BetMGM oddsmakers will also make regular appearances to pull back the curtain of the sportsbook and provide viewers with insider access to relevant topics such as linemaking and market movement.
“Cheddar News is focused on what’s next in the worlds of tech, science, innovation, and reaching the modern and always-online news consumer,” said Cheddar News SVP and general manager Liam Roecklein.
“Now, together in partnership with BetMGM, Cheddar Bets will dive deep into the world of sports betting and its effect on sports, technology, financial markets, regulation and more.”
The BetMGM-Cheddar News partnership is likely in part a response to the success of the Vegas Sports & Information Network (VSiN), which has cornered the market as the only 24-hour sports betting network since launching in 2017.
Founded by the family of legendary broadcaster Brent Musburger, VSiN was acquired by DraftKings earlier this year. Cheddar Bets can now lay claim to what figures to be VSiN’s first true competition for sports betting eyeballs.
“As BetMGM continues to invest in innovative sports betting content, we’ve found a great partner in Cheddar News,” said BetMGM chief revenue officer Matt Prevost.
“Through Cheddar Bets, we’ll provide informative and entertaining programming to engage new audiences,” he added.
Cheddar Bets, which will air weekly on Thursdays, premieres on August 19.
