BetMGM head arrives as CMO of FanDuel founder’s new crypto operator
Kyle Wachtel has called time on his five-year spell with the US-based operator to join BetHog Inc., a new cryptocurrency sportsbook founded by ex-FanDuel CEO and Wachtel’s former colleague, Nigel Eccles

BetMGM vice-president and head of partnerships, Kyle Wachtel, has announced he is leaving his post at the operator to become chief marketing officer (CMO) of recently formed BetHog Inc.
Wachtel bids farewell to the MGM Resorts International and Entain joint venture after just shy of six years, where he had worked from the firm’s headquarters in Jersey City, New Jersey since January 2019.
Over the course of Wachtel’s tenure as BetMGM head of partnerships, the operator has secured several high-profile partnership deals, including an exclusive sports betting partnership with X, formerly Twitter.
Prior to his time with BetMGM, Wachtel spent a similar length of time at FanDuel, from July 2013 to January 2019.
During that time, he rose up the ranks, arriving as affiliate marketing coordinator, before being promoted to affiliate marketing manager two years later in 2015.
A year-long stint as senior manager of the firm’s affiliate department followed, with Wachtel eventually departing as director of marketing partnerships.
Taking to LinkedIn to confirm his BetMGM exit, Wachtel wrote: “It has been a remarkable journey at BetMGM. I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity and I’m incredibly proud of all that we accomplished together.
“Thank you to all my colleagues and partners and, most importantly, members of my team— wishing you all the best.”
Wachtel went on to shed light on his next move, adding: “As for me, a new chapter is ahead, but one with familiar faces. I’ll be reuniting with Nigel Eccles and Rob Jones as CMO of their new venture, BetHog Inc., to take on the world of gambling and crypto.”
Eccles, founder of BetHog Inc and former FanDuel CEO and co-founder, also addressed the arrival of Wachtel to his new venture.
He said: “[There is] nothing I love more than working with former FanDuel colleagues. Super excited to have Kyle join the team at BetHog Inc. We’ve got a lot of really exciting things coming very soon.”
BetHog Inc, a crypto-based sportsbook, is yet to formally launch, despite being incorporated on Companies House in January of this year.
After confirming the appointment of Wachtel, BetHog is continuing its hiring spree and, according to LinkedIn, is still advertising for several roles including a front-end engineer and social media manager.
