Bet365 launches in Virginia and inks deal with Washington Commanders
Multi-year, multi-faceted deal with NFL side coincides with betting giant launch in fourth US state
Bet365 has announced its launch in Virginia as well as teaming up with the NFL’s Washington Commanders.
Customers in the Old Dominion State were able to access bet365 from 31 January and it became the fourth US state the company operates in following successful launches in Ohio, New Jersey and Colorado.
To coincide with the launch, bet365 also announced a deal to become the official sports betting partner of the Washington Commanders.
The multi-year, multi-faceted deal provides visibility for the brand within FedEx Field as well as access to trademark, digital platforms and will allow for future broadcast opportunities between the two parties.
A spokesperson for bet365 pointed to its recent successful launch in Ohio and with MLB side Cleveland Guardians as a blueprint for the latest market entry in the US.
The spokesperson said: “Fresh off the heels of a successful launch in Ohio, we are thrilled to launch the world’s favourite online sports betting brand in Virginia.
“With a growing community of sports betting fans, the launch into Virginia marks a milestone for bet365 as we continue our US expansion.”
Ryan Moreland, chief partnership officer at the Washington Commanders added: “This is an exciting time for our fans – and all sports fans – in Virginia, and we are excited to partner with bet365 to engage our fans across multiple platforms.”
