
Bally merger leads to record SciGames revenues

Scientific Gamesâ $5.1bn mega-merger with Bally Technologies led to a 52% increase in interactive revenues at the newly formed company in Q1 2015, the gaming and lottery giant has reported. [private]
The results include the first full quarter of contributions from Bally after SciGames completed its takeover of the firm back in November.
Total interactive revenues were $46.9m with social gaming accounting for $40.9m of the total and RMG $6m, with EBITDA up 209% to $9.9m during the three-month period.
Bally contributed $7m towards interactive gaming revenues during the period, driving a 202% increase in operating income to $3.9m, SciGames said.
The gaming and lottery supplier said its social gaming arm posted strong growth off the back of launching its Quick Hits slots game on the Dragonplay Slots Free Casino App, plus Star Trek slots on Facebook.
Monthly active users of the social products were up 57% to 7.7 million while daily active users increased a massive 77% to 2.3 million. But average revenue per daily active user (ARPDAU) was down 17% to $0.19 during the period.
In comparison, market leader Caesars Interactive subsidiary Playtika increased ARPDAU from $0.24 in Q1 2014 to $0.31 this year.
Scientific Games reported a 70% increase in group revenues to $658.7m, with EBITDA up 105% to $252.1m.
