Operator to launch mobile betting in August as two other state venues prepare their own offerings

Arkansas casino and racetrack Oaklawn is the first operator in the state to launch sports betting via its in-house venue powered by SBTech.

Users can bet on an array of sports including football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, UFC and boxing, gold, tennis, car racing and the Olympics and World Cup events.

The operator plans to introduce a mobile betting app in August, although it already offers pools betting on horse and dog races via its advance deposit wagering platform.

Oaklawn general manager Wayne Smith said: “We’re excited to now be offering sports wagering, it’s a new lever of entertainment for our guests.”

Southland casino in Arkansas’ West Memphis, and the Saracen Casino in Pine Bluff are also primed to launch sports betting in coming months.
