Arizona re-opens application window for sports betting licenses
Prospective operators have an 11-day window in July 2024 to submit their applications to join the likes of FanDuel and DraftKings in the state.

The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) will re-open its application window for sports betting operators from July 8 to July 19, 2024.
The ADG is looking to take on at least two new sportsbooks; no less than one working in conjunction with a tribal gaming group and no less than one working in tandem with a professional sports team in Arizona.
An ADG spokesperson said: “The application window for event wagering licenses will open on July 8, 2024, and will close on July 19, 2024, at 5PM.
“Applicants must submit their completed applications within this timeframe in order to be considered for a license.”
There are currently 16 sportsbook operators licensed in Arizona, with the current regulations within the state permitting 20 operators at any given time – 10 for the tribes and 10 for sports teams.
The likes of FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, and Caesars currently operate within The Copper State, as well as other companies such as Betway, Hard Rock Digital, and SuperBook.
Arizona’s last window for applications opened earlier this year between February 16 and March 5.
Bet365 entered the Arizona market in February 2024 with the launch of its mobile sportsbook product.
According to the ADG’s latest report, operators in Arizona reported handle of $759.8m in March, with DraftKings and FanDuel leading the market.
FanDuel reported handle of $265.1m, while DraftKings saw customers stake $255.3m during the month.
