AGA VP of strategic communications heads for the exit
Cait DeBaun calls time on her near-five-year stint with American Gaming Association as she embarks upon next stage of her career

American Gaming Association (AGA) VP of strategic communications and responsibility, Cait DeBaun, has departed the trade body after almost five years.
The former US Travel Association head has called time on her stint with the AGA after originally joining the gaming body back in June 2019 as senior director of strategic communications.
At the time, the AGA had enacted a hiring spree, of which DeBaun was one of four appointments.
She was joined by Ifrah Law head Jessica Feil as senior director of government relations, senior director of events Meredith Pallante and senior director of finance Gabrielle Voorhees.
In April 2021, DeBaun stepped up to become VP of strategic communications and responsibility as she moved into a key role at the AGA.
During her time as a VP, DeBaun led the AGA’s strategic communications and marketing team.
She was also responsible for creating and overseeing the ongoing ‘Have A Game Plan’ public awareness campaign that aims to educate sports bettors on responsible gambling.
Taking to LinkedIn, DeBaun said: “We’re so often looking ahead that we forget to take inventory of where we’ve been.
“As I hang up my American Gaming Association belt today, I’ve been reflecting on the remarkable five years working on behalf of the gaming industry.
“There hasn’t been a dull moment and I’m incredibly proud of all that we’ve achieved – from the throes of Covid to the growth of legal sports betting and deepening our responsibility efforts to fighting illegal gambling, and more.
“The issues keep the days interesting but it’s the people who make it meaningful. To the many of you who have shaped me and my time at the AGA, all I can say is thank you,” she added.
