Slots Tracker: IGT continues US slots lead in August as newly separated rankings highlight Canadian market
Las Vegas-headquartered operator’s Fortune Coin slot retains top spot in US market with 9 Masks of Fire leading the way in Canada

IGT’s Fortune Coin and Gameburger Studio’s 9 Masks of Fire were the slots to beat in the US and Canada in August as the EGR US Slots Rankings expanded its scope to better represent the North American slots sector.
Beginning this August, eGaming Monitor data has been split into a separate ranking for both US and Canadian slots, utilizing data from those respective territories to create a top 20 list for both jurisdictions.
This decision is in response to feedback from a number of interested parties calling for a split in order to provide a more specific reflection of the performance of each individual slot in each individual territory.
This will also allow for those slots listed to conform to their respective studio designation at the individual territory level.
US slots rankings positions will be based on the performance of the slots across six US states: New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Connecticut, and Delaware.
Canadian slots’ rankings will be based on provincial performance in Ontario, Western Canada, Quebec, New Brunswick, and British Columbia.
In respect of the US, IGT continued its seemingly unassailable stay at the top of the rankings, with Fortune Coin and (new second place) slot Cash Eruption placing just ahead of Everi’s Cash Machine in third.
ReelPlay’s Hypernova Megaways, IGT’s Cleopatra, and Shuffle Master’s 88 Fortunes occupied the fourth, fifth and sixth positions in the newly separated rankings.
Forcing its way into the top 20 in the US was Digital Gaming Corporation’s Gold Blitz, which jumped 40 spots to enter the US-only rankings in ninth spot.
Other slots breaking into the top 20 included Reel Play’s Atlantis Megaways, a 33-place riser to 15th spot, and Big Time Gaming’s Extra Chilli, which jumped 28 places to 16th. Everi’s Betrivers Wild dropped the most positions in the US in August, falling eight spots to 17th position.
Like the US, Canada’s top two performing slots were unchanged from the previous month, with Gameburger Studios 9 Masks of Fire and Pragmatic Play’s Sweet Bonanza occupying first and second spots.
Pragmatic Play slots dominated the top six spots in August, with Gates of Olympus and Big Bass Bonanza charting at third and fourth positions, respectively, ahead of Foxium’s Andvari The Magic Ring which rose a whopping 65 spots to fifth place.
Playtech’s Age Of The Gods: God Of Storms rounded out the top six Canadian slots performers during August.
Biggest risers in the Canadian slots rankings during August, aside from the aforementioned Foxium slot, included Crazy Tooth Studios’ Fire Gnomes slot, which jumped 24 spots to ninth position, and Snowborn Games’ Cat Clans 2: Mad Cats, which leapt a whopping 62 spots to 17th place.
Just For The Win’s Amazing Catch was the sole new entrant in the Canadian slots rankings, making its debut in 19th place.
In respect of the US list, eGaming Monitor data reviewed 51 sites in August 2023, with 2,296 games scrutinized. A total of 53 webpages were examined across six territories.
Games from a total of 137 studios were considered in the rankings in August.
EGaming Monitor’s Canadian rankings reviewed 58 sites in August 2023, with 3,527 games scrutinized. A total of 69 webpages were examined across five provinces. Games from 193 studios were considered in the August rankings.
