Welcome to the inaugural edition of EGR’s US Power Rankings. Given the explosion of the online gambling industry this side of the pond and the emergence of regulated sports betting, we felt it was the right time to bring EGR’s Power Rankings concept to the US.

The list has been compiled on two main factors. Seventy percent of the rating comes from published numbers – largely from New Jersey – with estimates of individual brand revenues made using company numbers, where possible, and projections from Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, which the analyst firm describes as “medium confidence.”
The remaining part of the ranking comes from an esteemed panel of judges from the EGR North America Awards, who were asked to rate the companies out of five on three categories: influence, product and innovation, and potential.
The rankings are somewhat backward-looking, based as they are on existing numbers. It penalizes the likes of PointsBet and Churchill Downs which are new to the market, but we decided that trying to accurately project the future is a fool’s errand. It’s also worth noting the rankings are online-only and operator-only, excluding DFS and horseracing revenues since these would give some firms an unfair advantage. So without further ado….
