
BetMGM debuts Wheel of Fortune Online Casino in Ontario
IP-led online casino brand heads into second market after New Jersey debut last year as bosses herald platform as part of the “winning formula”

BetMGM has launched its Wheel of Fortune-themed online casino brand in the Canadian province of Ontario in partnership with Sony Pictures Television and IGT.
Wheel of Fortune Online Casino has gone live in the regulated market, adding to BetMGM’s existing footprint in Ontario, which includes its eponymous sports betting, casino, and poker brand.
The platform will include more than 1,600 games, including slots, progressive jackpots, and table games.
BetMGM said further titles are set to added regularly to the newly launched online casino.
Wheel of Fortune Online Casino was launched by BetMGM in tandem with Sony and IGT in New Jersey last year, marking North America’s first IP-led online casino platform.
The iconic TV game show, which is currently in its 41st season, had featured in themed slots across land-based online casino floors over the past 25 years.
BetMGM partnered with IGT and Sony in March 2023 to bring the content to the digital sphere, with titles such as Wheel of Fortune Elegant Emeralds and Wheel of Fortune Megaways going live.
Management said that since the launch of Wheel of Fortune Online Casino in New Jersey, the platform has continued to “engage slot players and fans of the famed Wheel of Fortune TV show across the Garden State.”
Matt Prevost, BetMGM chief revenue officer, said using brand-led platforms could prove to be a “winning formula” in the online casino battle.
He explained: “Bringing Wheel of Fortune Casino to Ontario is a part of our strategy to give players the games they love and create an engaging experience with an iconic game show.
“In collaboration with Sony Pictures Television and IGT, we’ve created something that is unlike anything else in the online gaming sector.
“Wheel of Fortune slots have been top-performing games for decades and through a successful launch in New Jersey, we’ve found that the brand-led Wheel of Fortune Casino product is a winning formula that resonates with players.”
IGT PlayDigital president Gil Rotem added that the partnership was “unique” in the market.
Rotem said: “Ontario is a dynamic igaming market that readily embraces omnichannel IGT PlayDigital games such as Wheel of Fortune slots.
“BetMGM’s brand-led Wheel of Fortune Casino packages many of IGT PlayDigital’s highest performing games in a great-looking, player-friendly manner that is unique for the Ontario igaming market.”
MGM Resorts International president and CEO Bill Hornbuckle spoke at the end of July to vow the firm will not be giving up on the digital side of operations after reporting H1 EBITDA loss of $123m.
Last month, igaming Ontario reported handle of C$18.4n for Q1 of its 2024-25 fiscal year.
