Simplebet and Huddle lift lid on NBA betting habits with third season growth spike
The micro-betting provider saw impressive growth after a hectic NBA schedule that included 86 playoff and play-in games producing around 75% growth in core metrics
Simplebet generated just shy of $325m in handle across its operator-partner base, overseeing more than 13 million bets wagered on NBA games this season.
In what was the micro-betting supplier’s third season covering elite level basketball in North America, Simplebet produced around 75% growth in each category compared to last season.
The New York-based supplier provided markets on 86 separate playoff and play-in games since the playoffs commenced in late April.
The NBA finals took place last week and saw the Boston Celtics crowned champions after getting the better of the Dallas Mavericks in five games.
LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, and Kevin Durant are the most popular talents when it comes to bettors wagering on the next shot to be made by a certain player, according to the supplier.
Simplebet CEO Chris Bevilacqua talked up the company’s contribution to the fan experience in the NBA, before issuing an optimistic update regarding the firm’s future plans.
“We were thrilled to witness the growth of fan engagement throughout this NBA season,” Bevilacqua explained.
“Our commitment to providing innovative in-play betting options has allowed users to interact with the game in real time, predicting their favorite players’ next moves on the hardwood.
“With NBA TV ratings rising this season, it’s logical that in-play betting has contributed to an enhanced viewing experience. The significant growth we’ve seen underscores the demand for our micro-betting products, and we look forward to continuing to deepen the in-play experience for NBA fans everywhere,” he added.
News of Simplebet’s NBA showing comes two months on from the company promoting Andre Bessette to the role of chief product officer (CPO) after five years with the supplier.
Bessette will now be tasked with spearheading product innovation in live betting experiences, maintaining operational excellence and advancing partnerships with sports leagues, including LIV Golf, with Simplebet the tour’s official sports betting innovation partner.
Simplebet remains the main supplier for founder Joey Levy’s Betr B2C brand, which recently landed a $15m funding raise. The firm also boasts partnerships with a number of operating giants including DraftKings, Caesars, bet365, and Hard Rock Bet.
