Betr plots DFS debut with 24-state fantasy picks launch
Startup eyes cross-sell gains with single API amid plans to launch Betr OSB in H1 2024

Betr is set to expand into real-money daily fantasy sports (DFS) with the launch of BETR Picks across 24 US states.
The real money fantasy pick ‘em game allows users to select “More” or “Less” from a wide array of player projections to build a lineup of between two and eight players.
Users have the potential to win up to 100x their initial entry if they get eight picks correct.
Betr Picks will be available on the existing Betr sportsbook app, marking the first time that both sportsbook and DFS will be accessible under a single API.
Betr Picks will be available in Texas, California, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Washington DC. The operator confirmed it plans to expand into a total of 30 states by the end of 2023.
To celebrate the launch of Betr Picks, the operator has confirmed a special DFS picks contest on the boxing match between Betr co-founder Jake Paul and Nate Diaz on August 5, offering users the chance to win up to $1m in prizes.

Betr has confirmed it will operate as the official and exclusive sports betting and fantasy sports partner of the fight.
In tandem with the DFS launch, the Betr Media business, which promotes the brand, will be launching the @betrpicks sub-brand on social media, aiming to give fans a more targeted community-driven vertical for fantasy and picks content.
The soon-to-be launched channel will be led by social media star Derek Sullivan (aka Betr Derek) with appearances from Betr network personalities including Jake Paul, Marco Piemonte, Haley and Hanna Cavinder, Bo Nickal, and Handshake Bets.

Betr founder and CEO Joey Levy said he was “thrilled” to launch Betr Picks, hailing the potential impact of the picks business on the group’s existing OSB operations.
“Betr Picks allows us to acquire and engage real-money gaming users across the United States, enabling Betr Gaming to more fully capitalize on the nationwide presence of Betr Media for the first time, all while providing a complementary pre-match experience to our in-play focused OSB product,” Levy explained.
“We believe Betr Picks already features a strong core user experience relative to existing pick ‘em products, and we have several material enhancements that will be released over the coming weeks and months including more sports, game modes, media integrations, deposit and withdrawal capabilities, and more,” he added.
Betr’s existing sportsbook, designated V0 and still in beta testing phase, operates in Ohio and Massachusetts, with plans to launch in Virginia in the offing.
The operator has committed to launching an upgraded V1 version in H1 2024, with the upgrade utilizing technology from the Chameleon proprietary technology platform, which Betr acquired from FansUnite in May.
