Caesars debuts Puerto Rico sportsbook app
Licensed operator doubles down on US protectorate, adding to retail sportsbook offering

Caesars has launched its mobile sports betting app in Puerto Rico in partnership with local retail casino operator MetroBets.
The Caesars Sportsbook app integrates with Caesars Rewards loyalty program and is available on both iOS and Android, with new users receiving $50 in bonus bets.
Caesars Sportsbook is currently live in 21 states and jurisdictions – 15 of which are mobile – and operates the largest number of retail sportsbooks across the US.
Caesars Digital president Eric Hession lauded the firm’s latest operational launch, paying tribute to its land-based partner and the Puerto Rican authorities.
“The launch of our mobile sports wagering platform is an excellent complement to the elevated experience we’ve provided customers at MetroBets with Caesars Sportsbook at Casino Metro,” Hession said.
“We’d like to thank our partners and the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission for making our sportsbook available throughout all of Puerto Rico and we’re confident customers will enjoy an experience they can’t find anywhere else,” he added.
Sports betting was initially legalized by the Puerto Rico Senate in July 2019, however, the regulatory process has been slower than expected, with regulations only being rolled out in August 2020.
Sports wagering is permitted in Puerto Rico on all sporting events: professional, collegiate, Olympic, and international, and includes betting on electronic and esports events as well.
BetMGM became the US protectorate’s first retail sportsbook in February 2022, following this up with an online sportsbook launch in June 2023.
Caesars opened its retail sportsbook with MetroBets in December 2022.
Puerto Rico has 17 land-based casino properties, with several operators inking market access deals including DraftKings, which has partnered with Foxwoods El San Juan Casino and US rival FanDuel, which has linked up with the CAGE Companies.
However, the duo of US heavyweights have yet to launch in the US protectorate.
