PrizePicks expands DFS operations into Indiana
Fantasy operator granted temporary license to debut in Hoosier State marking 31st state of operation

PrizePicks has expanded its daily fantasy sports (DFS) empire to Indiana, following receipt of a temporary license from the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC).
PrizePicks currently operates its real-money DFS contests across 30 states and Washington DC as well as all Canadian provinces with the exception of Ontario.
The DFS operator recently partnered with Major League Baseball side the Atlanta Braves and counts US rapper Meek Mill as a brand ambassador.
It has also concluded a partnership with the BIG3 basketball league, owned by hip-hop legend Ice Cube.
PrizePicks’ chief legal officer and head of public policy Jason Barclay welcomed the launch in the Hoosier State as a marker of progress on its US journey.
“Adding Indiana as a licensed state to our portfolio is an important benchmark for our organization as we continue to grow our national footprint,” Barclay said.
“We are extremely grateful to the Indiana Gaming Commission for their collaboration and we hope that this license can be a model for other states with competitive gaming markets,” he added.
PrizePicks is currently fighting a patent and trade secret infringement lawsuit in Georgia with B2B sports technology company Vetnos LLC.
The lawsuit centers on three patents filed in 2014 and 2015 relating to technology used in fixed odds to oversee financial and performance risk, technology similar to that used by sports betting operators.
The case alleges that after several unsuccessful attempts to agree a partnership that would allow PrizePicks to license Vetnos technology, PrizePicks copied the technology covered under the patents.
