DraftKings and FanDuel unveil standalone casino apps for enhanced user experience
Users are now able to sign up for a casino account separate from the operators’ sportsbook offerings

DraftKings and FanDuel have both launched standalone mobile casino apps this week in an effort to enhance the player experience.
DraftKings said in a statement it has created “a more holistic product suite and dynamic experience” by separating the sportsbook and casino apps and adding new exclusive content to the gaming product.
Players will have access to an extended portfolio of games from IGT, Scientific Games and Slingo, as well as in-house developed DraftKings-branded games.
“We are thrilled to break new ground for DraftKings in the gaming space today with the launch of our DraftKings Casino app, the company’s first perennial product that operates year-round irrespective of the annual sports schedules,” said Jason March, DraftKings’ VP of gaming.
Meanwhile, FanDuel’s app will also feature an expanded game library and for the first time will offer users the chance to sign up for a casino account separate from its sportsbook.
DraftKings’ app has debuted in New Jersey while FanDuel’s is now available in neighboring state Pennsylvania.
FanDuel’s GM casino Jesse Chemtob said: “We’ve seen great engagement and interest with our FanDuel Casino product among our sportsbook customers to date and we view this product evolution as a natural next step to provide a full-service gaming experience to our Pennsylvania customers.”
Both products are available via Android and iOS.
For both DraftKings and FanDuel the large majority of casino players will have been cross-sold from sportsbook. This is the first time both operators are branching out to attract casino-only users.
