FanDuel reintroduces mobile betting to West Virginia
Operator says product is distinctly different from its PA and NJ apps as it runs on operator’s in-house wallet and account management platform

FanDuel has launched its sportsbook app in West Virginia, marking the state’s return to online betting after its only mobile app went down in March.
The app is the first to use the operator’s in-house platform including its wallet and account management technology.
Although it also uses the IGT PlaySports platform, which FanDuel’s New Jersey and Pennsylvania app runs on.
Users can access their DFS account via the app, meaning those new to the sportsbook can register easily with their fantasy account details.
A FanDuel statement said the app was distinctly separate from its New Jersey and Pennsylvania product, but aimed to give customers the same experience.
The app is available on the Android and Apple app stores.
FanDuel operates on the Governor Jim Justice-owned Greenbrier resort’s betting license.
At present, the company operates the only available betting app in West Virginia, after Delaware North’s BetLucky app went down in March following a dispute with the technology supplier.
DraftKings’ West Virginia app launch was postponed in June as the operator’s server was located in New Jersey and didn’t comply with the Wire Act requirement to host servers locally.
