XLMedia CFO resigns to join unnamed operator
Caroline Ackroyd to remain with the affiliate until the end of March as she prepares to return to B2C side of the industry

XLMedia chief financial officer (CFO) Caroline Ackroyd has tendered her resignation with a view to joining an as yet unnamed operator.
The AIM-listed affiliate confirmed the finance chief’s intention to resign from both the firm’s C-suite and the board.
However, Ackroyd will remain with XLMedia until 31 March to ensure an orderly handover takes place.
XLMedia added that the search to find Ackroyd’s replacement will commence immediately, with updates to be provided in due course.
Marcus Rich, XLMedia chair, said: “Caroline has made a considerable contribution to XLMedia over the past two years.
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank her for this and offer her our best wishes for the future,” he added.
Ackroyd joined XLMedia in March 2022 from marketing firm Jaywing in a move that marked her return to the industry after more than three years’ absence.
She previously spent two-and-a-half years with Ladbrokes as finance director and almost four years with Sky Betting & Gaming between January 2015 and November 2018.
She originally joined the Leeds-based firm as a consultant before being named director of commercial finance.
Ackroyd’s departure comes as XLMedia remains focused on delivering shareholder value via the further divestment of assets.
Last year the group sold off three European casino assets to Beach Services for $4m (£3.1m).
