William Hill to use Mr Green Malta HQ as post-Brexit international hub
Hills says yesterday’s acquisition provides a “ready-made home with some international expertise”

William Hill will use Mr Green’s headquarters as its international hub following Brexit, the operator said yesterday.
Hills had previously been searching for a suitable office location to set up in Malta, but said those plans had been abandoned in the wake of the MRG transaction.
“The deal gives us a ready-made Malta hub,” Hills CEO Philip Bowcock told EGR following the acquisition announcement yesterday.
“We were going to have to move our international operations out of Gibraltar and this gives us a ready-made home from them, and a ready-made home with some international expertise.”
He said the Malta office was a complementary benefit from the acquisition rather than a driving factor
When asked what a combined MRG/Hills office might look like, Bowcock added: “We will work through it – we would hope much of the international work could be absorbed into the existing Malta office. Clearly from a sportsbook perspective there would have to be some William Hill people moved across but we will work through that.”
Mr Green currently has around 300 staff in its Sliema office in Malta, including 75 staff from the acquisition of Evoke Gaming.
Several operators have been preparing to open offices in Malta in the wake of Brexit, including 888 and bet365
