Hills veteran replaces Kevin O’Connor who recently left the company after 18 months as chief information officer

William Hill has promoted Paul Durkan to the role of group chief information officer (CIO) following the departure of the operator’s former CIO Kevin O’Connor.
Durkan officially took up his new position in August having previously worked in a number of senior roles at Hills since joining in 2001, including BIS operations director and programme director for the Online business.
The Hills veteran was most recently CIO retail, trading and development director.
He replaces former CIO Kevin O’Connor who originally joined William Hill in January 2016 following senior technology roles at Paddy Power, S&P Capital IQ and Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
In other William Hill news, the London-listed operator has confirmed its new chief financial officer (CFO), Ruth Prior, has officially joined the company, taking over from interim CFO Mark Summerfield.
She joins the operator after nearly four years at Worldpay, where she was originally appointed deputy chief financial officer before taking up her current COO role in December 2016.
William Hill has been on the hunt for a new CFO since Philip Bowcock, who originally joined the firm as CFO in November 2015, was appointed as its new chief executive officer (CEO) earlier this year.
William Hill’s share price was 252.60p at the time of writing.
