William Hill places over 100 online jobs under review
EGR understands dozens of jobs are at risk as the operator kicks off a consultation of its digital business in London, Leeds and Gibraltar

William Hill has made dozens of staff in its digital team at risk of redundancy as part of a group consultation that will see more than 100 roles in London, Leeds and Gibraltar put under review, EGR Intel has learned.
EGR understands the operator’s Gibraltar-based UX team and a number of senior online gaming roles have been put at risk of redundancy as part of the consultation process.
A William Hill spokesperson told EGR: “This week we have begun a consultation process across our digital business involving over 100 people in London, Leeds and Gibraltar.”
The spokesperson added: “These changes aim to ensure we continue to operate as efficiently as possible as we move into next year.
“While the process is ongoing we envisage that many of these roles will continue, some will relocate and some people will be redeployed.
“If there are any redundancies at the end of the process then William Hill will provide a full support package to any employee impacted.”
It is believed the consultation has been initiated as part of a wider company restructuring and to coincide with the operator’s expected £242m acquisition of MRG (Mr Green) which will see Malta become its new international hub.
Hills had previously been searching for a suitable office location to set up in Malta after Brexit, but recently said those plans had been abandoned in the wake of the MRG transaction.
Earlier this month, Hills announced it had hired former Ladbrokes Coral MD Phil Walker to lead its UK & Ireland Online business in Gibraltar.
