William Hill names senior Betsson exec as new International MD
Patrick Jonker will report into chief digital officer Ulrik Bengtsson from Malta when he starts at Hills in March

William Hill has hired Betsson country manager Patrick Jonker as its new International managing director (MD).
Jonker will be based in Malta and is set to start at Hills on 18 March, reporting into William Hill’s chief digital officer, Ulrik Bengtsson.
The new International MD will have full responsibility for William Hill’s international digital business and will be charged with “building an internationally diverse online business” once Hills’ MRG acquisition completes.
As part of the MRG deal, Hills is moving its International operations to Malta. Several international-facing roles have been put at risk of redundancy in the Gibraltar office.
Jonker arrives at Hills from Betsson where he held a senior management position as country manager for sports betting and casino. Prior to that, he was a business group director at global media agency Initiative.
Earlier this month, William Hill’s omni-channel director Itai Hadas left the company as part of the ongoing consultation that could see more than 100 digital staff at risk of redundancy.
