Bookmaker strengthens commitment to horseracing after inking partnership for new format on Sky Sports Racing

William Hill has secured title sponsorship rights for the inaugural Racing League, beginning 29 July at Newcastle.
The operator will lend its name to the competition, now to be known as the William Hill Racing League, and will see naming and branding rights afforded at all four host racecourses.
Additionally, as part of the deal, William Hill has set the ante post prices for each of Racing League’s 12 teams, with Newmarket Red the favourite at 9/2.
The Racing League will run for six weeks from 29 July until 2 September every Thursday evening across four racecourses; Newcastle, Doncaster, Lingfield Park and Royal Windsor.
The tournament boasts £1.8m in prize money at stake on the racetrack, plus £200,000 in bonuses for the winning team and top three jockeys.
Liam McKee, William Hill head of sponsorship and media, said: “At William Hill, racing is part of our DNA, and the Racing League is a truly unique and innovative project that we are delighted to be involved in.”
Oli Harris, Racing League CMO, added: “William Hill is one of the biggest names in the sports industry and will help take Racing League to the next level in terms of our profile.
“We are very much looking forward to working with the team at William Hill to maximise this relationship. With a week to go until our first event, it’s a very exciting time for Racing League.”
Elsewhere, Sky Sports Racing has revealed its stellar line up of hosts for its coverage of the competition, including Alex Hammond and cricket legends David Lloyd and Michael Holding.
