Weekend Review: A match made in heaven
Chelsea’s FA Cup final victory saw the layers finish the season strongly as BetVictor pay out on the Queen’s royal wedding headwear
The FA Cup took centre stage alongside the royal wedding this weekend as the domestic football season draws to a close.
Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Manchester United in the final courtesy of an Eden Hazard penalty was arguably much less of a spectacle than Harry and Megan’s ceremony at Windsor Castle, but marked a profitable end to the season for the layers.

Kindred Group’s Ali Gill said the underwhelming finale left Unibet way ahead: “It was perhaps a predictably dour Mourinho vs Conte affair with just one goal to speak of and was not what fans or punters wanted to see as we finished the domestic season way ahead on that one.
“The final round of other major European leagues also ended with the perfect end-of-season tonic for Kindred,” he added. “Across all sports this weekend, 8 of our biggest 10 events left us with a substantial black margin.”
One of those events included Rafael Nadal’s Italian Open final victory over Alexander Zverev.
“As is ever predictable in the tennis since his return to form, a Rafa Nadal win in the final of the Rome Masters left us behind in the outright for that tournament, but his loss of the first set meant we managed to claw a win out of the final itself,” said Gill.

William Hill’s Rupert Adams said a flurry of late money on Chelsea hurt the operator after punters saw Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku benched an hour before kick-off.
BetVictor’s Charlie McCann said the 1-0 Chelsea victory provided a perfect result to end a great season for the operator.
“A cracking FA Cup final was the highlight of a good weekend with Chelsea and the lack of goals both great results to end a very good domestic football season for the layers,” he said.
“We also managed to nick a few bob on the royal wedding despite paying out on both yellow and green for the colour of the Queen’s hat!”
