Finnish monopoly operator agrees official betting deal with North American ice hockey league


Veikkaus has put pen to paper on a deal to become the official betting partner of the NHL in Finland.
Under the remit of the deal, Veikkaus will offer NHL content via its social media channels and likewise the NHL’s Finnish website will include references to the monopoly operator.
Veikkaus customers will also gain access to NHL live streams for the regular season, playoffs and Stanley Cup finals via VeikkausTV.
The deal will run until the end of the 2023-24 NHL season and will also include the remainder of the 2022-23 season which is due to conclude in June.
Tuomo Torkkola, Veikkaus sponsorship manager, said: “The NHL is one of the most popular betting destinations in Veikkaus. With the official partnership, we will be able to offer more content from the world’s best ice hockey league on our channels in the future.
“Ice hockey is a very important sport for Veikkaus, and this cooperation expands our comprehensive ice hockey offer even further. The NHL is an important league for many of Veikkaus’ customers, and several Finnish stars play there,” he added.
