Tote releases new pool guarantee and updated product portfolio ahead of British racing’s return

UK Tote Group has debuted new product enhancements for its existing Tote Ten to Follow game as well as a new pool guarantee service ahead of the return of UK racing from 1 June.

UK Tote Group has created a Pool Guarantee Service (PGS) to offset the reduction in pool volumes caused by the absence of racecourse and retail bets.

This had been previously raised in the Tote Town Hall initiative in 2018, following UK Tote Group’s multi-million-pound acquisition of the Tote from Betfred.

PGS will see the Tote replace some of this liquidity with a similar spread of activity, ensuring customers can bet into pools where prices will be more stable for several hours ahead of each race.

The prices that customers see when they bet with the Tote will reflect the final dividend paid out on winning bets, aiming to reduce the impact of last-minute price fluctuations.

PGS will be implemented on all pools on British racing, as well as Tote-hosted pools on racing in Hong Kong and France, including Placepots, and will operate alongside the existing Tote Guarantee.

UK Tote Group CEO Alex Frost welcomed the forthcoming return of racing following the relaxation of Covid-19 lockdown measures and revealed the pooled betting firm is targeting further product enhancements over the coming year.

“We are clearly in unprecedented times and this calls for all of us to look at new and innovative ways to enhance the enjoyment of watching and betting on racing,” said Frost.

“The Tote stands shoulder to shoulder with everyone in the sport and we are playing our part in growing the appeal of pool betting and the role of the Tote in supporting the sport,” he added.

In addition to the new guarantee, the Tote Ten to Follow launched for the upcoming flat racing season, which begins on Monday, with a £100,000 jackpot.

New functionality introduced includes the ability to amend stables, create silks and build multiple stables for different games.
