Tonje Sagstuen named Norsk Tipping CEO on a permanent basis
Norwegian operator confirms Sagstuen to lead the business following Thor Gjermund Eriksen’s departure on 31 August

Tonje Sagstuen has been named as Norsk Tipping’s permanent CEO having held the position on an interim basis for the past two months.
Sagstuen had been deputy CEO for the past five years and was appointed Thor Gjermund Eriksen’s successor on a temporary basis in August, assuming the position from 1 September when Eriksen departed on 31 August.
At the time, the Norwegian operator said Sagstuen would lead the company until a new CEO was found. However, the board has now elected to appoint the former journalist as CEO on a permanent basis.
Initially joining Norsk Tipping in 2014, she served as director of responsibility, society and communications prior to her switch to the senior job.
On her appointment, Sagstuen said: “I am grateful for the trust the board shows in me and humbled by the responsibility I have been given.
“Norsk Tipping is a large company that plays an important role for the whole of Norway, and I look forward to leading the work on our important social mission further.”
Norsk Tipping chair Sylvia Brustad highlighted Sagstuen’s experience and her insight into the company as to why she was given the position on a permanent basis.
Brustad added: “Today I am pleased to be able to present Tonje Sagstuen as the new CEO of Norsk Tipping. With her, Norsk Tipping gets a skilled and experienced manager who knows the company and its employees very well.
“The board has appreciated the work Sagstuen has done as acting CEO and is pleased that she has accepted the position on a permanent basis.
“We are convinced that Sagstuen is the right person to lead Norsk Tipping going forward.”
