Tombola restructures management team as part of plan to double turnover
Online bingo operator appoints four new heads of department in line with five-year strategy

Tombola has appointed four new heads of department as part of the online bingo operator’s five-year strategy to double turnover.
Mark Russell, who joined the Sunderland-based firm from digital agency TH_NK in September, has been appointed head of bingo operations while the other three appointments are internal promotions.
They include Karl Wood, who was made head of arcade operations, Neil Guy who was made head of international operations and Ian Walshaw who was appointed to head of central operations.
Tombola CEO Phil Cronin said: “We are two years into our 20:20 five-year strategy to double our turnover and our workforce.
“We are ahead of where we need to be and these appointments will help us achieve our ambitions – or exceed them.”
The company, which currently employs more than 300 staff in the UK and 70 across Italy, Spain and Gibraltar is set to build a new £7m headquarters on Sunderland Riverside where all games and apps are created and developed by an in-house tech team.
“Some markets abroad have huge potential and we’re currently looking at two or three countries,” said Guy.
“Factors we take into consideration include the size of the market and of course, regulation in that country.”
