
Tipico unveils creative marketing campaign for March Madness
German giant develops basketball betting short in collaboration with ad agency Öpinionated


Tipico has ramped up its strategy to acquire new customers in the highly competitive US sports betting market with a new ad campaign and welcome offer.
The German operator has launched a new TV advert to showcase how seriously sports bettors take their craft, as the protagonist makes a last-minute decision to bet on basketball.
The ad was developed in collaboration with creative agency Öpinionated and highlights the building tension before a player places a bet, according to Tipico head of US marketing Keith Gormley.
He said: “For many players, the risk/reward calculation is the best part of sports betting, and sometimes the biggest risk they take is not placing a bet and missing out on the reward.”
As March Madness approaches, Tipico has relaunched a welcome bonus for new customers in New Jersey and will match sportsbook deposits of up to $750.
Tipico US business MD Adrian Vella said: “Back by popular demand, this may be the most attractive promotion available to consumers in the state.
“We are very excited to introduce more players to the Tipico mobile app during the most action-packed month on the sports calendar,” he added.
Tipico is planning to expand beyond New Jersey in 2021 and into Colorado via a market-access partnership with Century Casinos.
