Tipico scores two-year German Cup sponsorship deal
Privately owned operator to support DFB-Pokal as it ramps up advertising efforts in home market

Tipico has penned a partnership with the German Football Association (DFB) to become an official partner for the DFB-Pokal.
Under the remit of the deal, the operator will sponsor both the men’s and women’s editions of German football’s premier domestic cup competition.
The sponsorship will run until the end of 2025-26 season, officially coming to a close on 30 June 2026.
As part of the deal, the Tipico logo will be visible during DFB-Pokal games on in-stadia advertising boards as well as across the DFB’s digital channels.
Tipico will also be allowed to use official DFB-Pokal images in its marketing projects.
The DFB-Pokal sees 64 teams take part each season, including all teams from Germany’s top two divisions: the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga.
This year’s edition was won by Bayer Leverkusen to add to the club’s Bundesliga title in what was an unbeaten domestic season for Xabi Alonso’s side.
Kajetan Strini-Brown, Tipico director of sports marketing acquisition, said: “With the DFB on our side, we are now playing on the same team as co-partners of the DFB-Pokal and are strengthening our role as the largest sports betting provider in German football.
“The DFB-Pokal, known for its dramatic games and surprising twists, is also a perfect fit for Tipico, as we always strive to offer our customers an emotional, exciting and safe sports betting experience,” he added.
Holger Blask, chair of the DFB’s commercial board, remarked: “With Tipico, we welcome another partner for the DFB-Pokal competitions for women and men.
“We are looking forward to new activations as part of the two traditional competitions with their finals in Cologne and Berlin. As partners, we also want to continue and intensify our extensive efforts to ensure responsible handling of sports betting.”
Elsewhere, Tipico has opened a new tech hub in Kraków with plans to add 50 employees to the Polish office over the next 24 months.
