
Tipico adds igaming newcomer as CFO
Finance veteran Christian Wurzinger joins from Candy Crush parent company King and represents the latest refresh for the German firm’s C-suite

Tipico has named Procter & Gamble veteran Christian Wurzinger as its new CFO, marking the new exec’s first job in the igaming industry.
Wurzinger arrives from King, known for creating the popular mobile game Candy Crush, having spent three years based out of its London headquarters in the same role.
Prior to moving into mobile gaming, Wurzinger served as CFO at multiple firms, including German pharmaceutical manufacturer Klosterfrau Healthcare Group between March 2019 to November 2021 and Capri Sun between February 2016 to January 2019.
The new Tipico CFO is also a 22-year Procter & Gamble veteran, having held multiple positions during his lengthy stay with the consumer goods conglomerate.
He worked across M&A, strategic planning and finance for the Nasdaq-listed business, including holding roles as CFO for baby care, fragrance and salon operations.
Wurzinger will join Tipico CEO Axel Hefer in the C-suite after he was named the company’s boss last summer. Former CEO Joachim Baca stepped up to become chair of the business as part of the transition.
Tipico began 2025 by acquiring Austria-facing sports betting brand Admiral from Novomatic in an undisclosed deal.
Elsewhere, the operator announced its latest ad campaign, ‘You bet on the best’, which was is? accompanied by a 90-second short.
The campaign is targeted at the German market, with the firm stating its aim is to “capture the intense and raw emotions of football”. Link?
