The Unit secures Tekkorp Capital partner as chair
Andy Clerkson links up with the supplier to help drive international growth following stint as a strategic adviser since 2023

Tekkorp Capital partner Andy Clerkson has been named as chair of The Unit, as the supplier looks to further its international expansion.
Clerkson has served as a strategic adviser to the Irish company since 2023 and will now take on the in-house role alongside his other industry positions.
As well as serving as a Tekkorp Capital partner, Clerkson is the chair of Low6 and founder of industry PR firm Red Knot Communications, which was established in 2020.
Clerkson also founded Grand Parade in 2007 before selling the business to William Hill in 2016 for over £13m.
He then went on to play a key role in the launch of Fox Bet in the US and is a former chair of F2P games provider SportCaller.
The Unit said the industry veteran’s “unrivalled experience in scaling outsourced product design and development teams” would be crucial to its development.
The business has partnerships with US-facing igaming-only operator PlayStar, Sportingtech and Star Sports.
In January, the company opened a New York office with the support of the Bank of Ireland. The Unit also has a hub in Moldova.
Speaking on joining The Unit as chair, Clerkson drew similarities between the business and Grand Parade.
He said: “The Unit is now in a position that is very familiar to me, as we scale the teams and skillsets that will allow our clients to grow and expand at pace.“We anticipate a smorgasbord of product innovation in the near future as new categories, such as prediction markets, social casinos, DFS 2.0 and more, vie for attention. We have seen sports betting and gaming explode in newly regulated markets like Latam and Africa.
“The Unit’s sports, casino and social gaming specialist teams provide a golden opportunity for companies looking to build new products and features and get ahead of their roadmaps. Indicators are pointing towards a welcome increase in M&A from the lows of 2023-2024, which drives even more competition.“These are perfect conditions for The Unit as we have the deep ingrained knowledge and expertise to help gaming companies of all sizes, all across the globe, build high-quality products, on time and on budget.”
Paddy Casey, The Unit co-founder, added: “With The Unit set to scale up and take on several new markets, this is the perfect time to use Andy’s experience, and he will be able to take a more hands-on approach as we strategise for the future.“I very much look forward to working closer with Andy across the next couple of years, and I can’t wait to embark on the next stage of our journey together with The Unit.”
