The Grand National tops list of biggest betting events for Entain in 2024
England fixtures at Euro 2024 dominate the top 10, which also includes the US Masters and Super Bowl LVIII

The Grand National was the most popular betting event for Entain customers in 2024, according to the latest data released by the operator.
Across Entain’s global portfolio, encompassing brands including Ladbrokes, Coral and BetMGM in the US, April’s Grand National saw the highest number of bets placed.
The vast majority (82%) of cash bets placed on the Grand National in the UK were for £5 or less, with only 1% of wagers exceeding £20.
The next most popular single event was Super Bowl LVIII, contested by the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers in February 2024.
Rounding out the top three was the final of Euro 2024 between England and Spain in July, with the Spaniards winning 2-1 in Germany.
England’s fixtures at the tournament made up the majority of the top 10 list for Entain, including their semi-final against the Netherlands (fourth) and the quarter-final tie with Switzerland (seventh).
The Three Lions’ group stage match against Serbia (eighth) and the round of 16 win over Slovakia (ninth) were also reported by Entain as some of the most popular events last year.
Fifth on the list was the 2024 Champions League final in May, played between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
The only other non-football event to feature on the list was golf’s US Masters, which was held at Augusta in April 2024.
When looking at the top 50 most popular betting events for Entain across the year, 60% of were fixtures from Euro 2024, with just over a fifth (22%) coming from NFL fixtures.
Other notable events in the top 50 included the Cheltenham Gold Cup (16th), Scottish Grand National (34th) and Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul (36th).
No single Premier League game made the top 50 most popular events, although there was some FA Cup action included in the list.
Greg Ferris, managing director for sports at Entain, said: “Watched by hundreds of millions of people worldwide, the Grand National’s popularity and ability to capture the attention of casual bettors remains undisputed, according to our global sportsbook.
“It was the Euros that really captured the imagination of viewers this year though, with England games still proving a huge draw for recreational betting.”
