TalkSPORT BET brand head leaves role after company restructure
James Kennedy made redundant from the BVGroup-powered brand after nearly two years following a “recent reorganisation” behind the scenes

TalkSPORT BET head of brand James Kennedy has left his role at the company after nearly two years.
The exec first joined talkSPORT BET in February 2023, shortly after BetVictor launched the brand in November 2022.
The white-label agreement led radio station talkSPORT to leverage BetVictor’s proprietary tech to power the new betting platform offering betting, casino and live casino.
Kennedy initially moved across from his previous role at BetVictor, where he served as head of UK engagement from November 2020.
Prior to that, he spent four months as a betting consultant at Gaming1, from August to November 2020, and worked as product owner for sportsbook and search at Addison Global, from September 2017 to March 2020.
The longest spell of Kennedy’s career came at William Hill, where he held various roles over eight years between February 2009 to September 2017.
After working as a content publisher, horse racing trader and VIP account manager, from February 2009 to September 2016, he would eventually serve as international operations manager for 12 months.
Speaking on LinkedIn about his departure from talkSPORT BET, Kennedy said: “It is with more than a hint of sadness that following a recent reorganisation, I’ve been made redundant from my role as Head of talkSPORT BET.
“To say that this role has been a joy would be an understatement. It’s been a rare privilege to combine two of my greatest passions in my day-to-day work. I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, taking the brand from launch to where it stands today.”
He continued: “The foundations are solid, and I have no doubt that the new team will take it to even greater heights in the months and years to come. I can’t wait to see the continued success of the brand and the fantastic people behind it.
“This role has been an education like no other. From managing strategy from top-of-the-funnel initiatives, via retention and through to media output and partnerships, to leveraging my previous experience in product management – I’ve gained invaluable skills along the way. Now, I’m eager to bring this experience to a new role.”
