Swedish parliament to discuss the gambling act this week as Svenska Spel signs casino platform deal with SG

Online gambling licences in Sweden will cost approximately €67,000, according to recent filings with the European Commission.
The Swedish government last week notified the Commission of its secondary legislation, which included that a single-vertical licence will cost €39,000 while a licence for both casino and sports betting will come in at €67,000.
Online gambling will be taxed at 18% of GGR.

According to the filings, the date for submitting licence applications to the gambling authority (Lotteriinspektionen) has been pushed back a month to August 2018, although the law itself is still expected to come into force on 1 January 2019.
The proposed gambling bill will be presented to the Swedish parliament later this week by the minister responsible for gambling, Ardalan Shekarabi.
In preparation for the market opening, Swedish-monopoly operator Svenska Spel has revealed it will partner with Scientific Games on the development of its first casino product.
Under the new legislation the operator will be able to offer casino games to its Swedish players for the first time.
The product will sit on the NYX platform and will include a range of casino, poker and bingo games to be integrated into the operator’s Sportspel and Nettcasino brands.
