Svenska Spel appoints from within to name new CFO
Swedish operator has selected Amäni Radwan to succeed departing chief finance officer Eva Stoppel, effective from July 2025

Svenska Spel has promoted from within to name Amäni Radwan as CFO of the Swedish state-owned operator.
Radwan, whose tenure will officially begin in July 2025, has been with the company since 2021, when she arrived as head of business management, before rising up the ranks again in 2023 to become head of group finance.
Management noted that given Radwan already boasts four years of experience with Svenska Spel, she is well-versed in the group’s “strategy and corporate culture”.
Outside of the operator, Radwan spent a decade with Swedish retailer franchise ICA Gruppen, departing in early 2021 as chief business controller, a role that required her to lead the group’s governance efforts as well as streamline operations.
Prior to that, she spent four years in analyst and business controller roles at the Nordic arm of Goodyear Dunlop Tires.
As Svenska Spel CFO, Radwan will take the reins from predecessor Eva Stoppel, who confirmed in January that she would be stepping down from the position.
Stoppel is expected to channel her efforts into “board assignments in various operations”, after holding the title of CFO for six years.
Reflecting on her promotion, Radwan explained: “I am very proud of the trust and happy to have the opportunity to drive change together with the rest of the group management with a focus on our business.
“Svenska Spel is a company that does a lot of good for society and we are at an exciting stage with a new strategy in place.
“I look forward to continuing to work to achieve our goals of having the most satisfied customers in the gaming market, ensuring that all customers play healthily with us and for sustainable growth.”
Anna Johnson, Svenska Spel president and CEO, praised Radwan’s leadership as she welcomed the appointment, noting: “I am very pleased to welcome Amäni Radwan to her new role and to the group management.
“She is a valued leader within Svenska Spel and, in addition to solid financial expertise, also has business focus and strategic understanding. Amäni will also be able to contribute valuable experience in business development and change management.”
Johnson also paid tribute to Stoppel ahead of her exit in July, adding: “We would like to thank Eva Stoppel for her fantastic work and valuable contributions as CFO of Svenska Spel.
“The strength of Eva’s leadership is evident not least in the fact that we have been able to recruit her successor internally. We wish Eva good luck with the next step.”
In February, Svenska Spel reported a flat year-on-year (YoY) rise in net gaming revenue (NGR) for Q4 2024, which sat at SEK2.1bn (£156.9bn), the same as the final three months of 2023.
The operator’s full-year 2024 results documented a 4% YoY fall in NGR, down to SEK7.7bn, a slump partly attributed to the GGR tax hike implemented mid-way through the year, up from 18% to 22%.
