Superbet hires chief digital officer to replace Jamie Hart
EGR understands Marcello Magaletti, formerly of Paddy Power and Uber, will officially start his new role on 10 September

Superbet has hired Paddy Power’s former Italy country manager Marcello Magaletti as its new chief digital officer, replacing Jamie Hart who left his role as director of ecommerce in the summer, EGR can reveal.
Magaletti will officially take up the newly created Bucharest-based role on Monday (10 September) having previously led Paddy Power’s Italy-facing business for two-and-a-half years until January 2017.
The Romanian operator’s new digital chief also held roles in commodity derivatives at investment banks such as Goldman Sachs and Barclays, and more recently was general manager for UberEATS in Italy.
“Marcello’s experience of the Italian market, which is similar in many ways to the Romanian one, will help Superbet to achieve a share of the digital market that is like what we already have in retail,” Sacha Dragic, CEO of Superbet, told EGR Intel.
As chief digital officer, Magaletti will act as a replacement for Superbet’s former group director of ecommerce, Jamie Hart, who EGR revealed in July had left the company to take up a new role at racing consortium Alizeti Capital.
Hart had originally joined Superbet in February 2017.
The appointment of Magaletti follows a number of other changes to the operator’s digital team in recent weeks, including the news it is downsizing its Gibraltar operations.
Superbet also recently signed a deal with Comtrade to migrate its back-end from Bit8 technology onto the supplier’s iCore platform to help meet the operator’s omni-channel ambitions.
