
Super Group selects Bellerive Finance CEO as new board member
Merrick Wolman joins the Betway parent company’s board of directors with immediate effect as CEO Neal Menashe champions his “deep understanding” of gambling sector


Super Group has named Bellerive Finance CEO Merrick Wolman as the online operator’s latest board member.
The South African officially joined the Betway and Spin parent company’s board yesterday, 18 February.
In an SEC statement, Super Group said Wolman has “worked closely with the Super Group executive team for over two decades”.
As per SEC filings, Super Group had previously engaged in loan facilities from Bellerive to support M&A moves.
Wolman is a long-term Bellerive stalwart, having served as the head of the business finance division at Stenham Group, the predecessor company to Bellerive Finance.
His addition to the Super Group board takes its total membership to nine, including five independent directors.

Led by chair Eric Grubman, the board also includes Super Group’s CEO Neal Menashe, chief commercial officer Richard Hasson and CFO Alinda Van Wyk.
The remainder of the board is made up of former BDO audit partner John Le Poidevin, ex-Sportingbet head Robert Dutnall, land-based casino expert Jonathan Jossel and 18-year NFL veteran Natara Holloway Branch.
CEO Menashe said: “We are very pleased to welcome Merrick to the board.
“His deep understanding of the gaming industry, alongside his wide range of experience in executive roles, will be of great value as we continue to pursue our global growth strategy and build on our successes to date.”
CCO Hasson, who also serves as Super Group president, is due to depart the operator later this year after informing the board of his intention to step down
He has agreed to remain with the business to help source his eventual replacement and ensure a smooth transitionary period.
In other Super Group news, the New York-listed firm has secured an official partnership with Formula 1 team Atlassian Williams Racing on a multi-year deal.
The business is also expecting to report its “strongest ever ex-US quarter” later this month after posting strong preliminary results in January.
