Sun Racing marks official launch with new mobile app
App to offer odds from five bookmakers as News UK pledges to “cut out the jargon” of horse racing

Sun Racing has launched its new mobile app on day one of the Cheltenham Festival amid a pledge to deliver a betting product built for the “mainstream horseracing fan”.
Punters will be able to place bets and browse odds, race cards and predictions, while the app will also include analysis and columns from Sun Racing ambassadors Matt Chapman and Megan Nicholls.
Bets on the app are offered through an affiliate model via Sun Racing’s five operator partners: Betway, Coral, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Unibet.
Sun Racing director James Garmston said: “We want Sun Racing to bring a new digital life to the industry, with a betting product that is built for the mainstream race fan and bettor.
“Horseracing is moving on and Sun Racing will deliver for the modern punter. We want to give the power to the punter and do all of the hard graft for them, whatever their level.
“It’s no jargon, so we get to the heart of what people need to know and deliver it in a style that allows them to have a fun and an informed flutter,” he added.

The new Sun Racing app
The Sun Racing app is the latest addition to The Sun’s portfolio of betting and gaming products, which include Dream Team fantasy football and Sun Bingo.
The launch could also dampen the chances of News UK’s Sun Bets venture being reopened.
Sun Racing is sponsoring the 2019 Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham to kick off a marketing campaign for the new app across The Sun, talkSPORT and various News UK social channels.
The Sun MD David Robinson said: “Sun Racing has already engaged a strong following of race goers with its unique approach to horse racing, day-in-day-out scoops, pithy analysis and bite-size tips.
“We have sought-after reach, high quality content and now, a market-leading betting product.”
