Polish operator STS has appointed IT expert Jarek Walaszek as its new chief information officer (CIO).
Walaszek joins STS from Ringier Axel Springer where he has served as IT development director since April 2018 in Krakow.
Prior to his role with Ringier, Walaszek spent almost 12 years with its subsidiary DreamLab.
In his role as CIO, Walaszek will be responsible for overseeing the development of tech and digital environment within the group.
He assumed the position on 1 February 2022.
Speaking on his appointment, Walaszek said: “I find the opportunity to join such an innovative organisation with such an ambitious digital transformation a very exciting and stimulating challenge.
“It is valuable for me to have the opportunity to work for such a dynamically developing group and a team which sets such ambitious and progressive goals,” he added.
Mateusz Juroszek, STS CEO, commented: “The fact that Jarek Walaszek joins the group will allow us to build a completely new quality for customers in Poland and abroad. His experience will help make STS’ product and technology offer even more innovative and focused on mobile solutions.”
In December 2021, STS was the first gambling company in Poland to become publicly listed while in June of the same year the group opened a new tech team office in Katowice.
