STS appoints ex-Superbet head as new chief sportsbook officer
Ivan Gojić selected to spearhead the Entain-owned operator’s sports betting efforts as company merges certain operations with fellow subsidiary SuperSport
STS has named Ivan Gojić as its new chief sportsbook officer (CSO), with the exec also being appointed as vice-president of sportsbook for Entain CEE (Central and Eastern Europe).
As part of his new responsibilities, Gojić will be tasked with overseeing operations in Poland for STS, where it is the market leader.
Entain CEE includes STS and Croatian operator SuperSport. The division reported online NGR of £403.9m last year.
Gojić’s appointment comes six months after Entain confirmed STS and SuperSport would merge certain operations as part an initiative entitled the ‘#United’ strategy.
As per STS’s confirmation, Gojić’s tenure as CSO has already begun, marking his first experience at C-suite level.
Prior to his new position, Gojić spent more than seven years at Superbet, where he arrived as head of client risk in early 2017 before departing as head of trading product.
Throughout his time with the operator, Gojić was based out of Superbet’s Zagreb offices, where he also served as head of in-play.
His first foray into the sector came in October 2011, when he arrived as a sports trader for Ladbrokes.
In that role, Gojić climbed the ranks and occupied the role of senior sports trader and product manager before his departure in August 2017.
Reflecting on his new status as CSO of Entain-owned STS, Gojić explained: “It’s hard to call it work when you’re doing something you love.
“It all started over 20 years ago – first from the perspective of a professional player, and later through a career that began and evolved in various roles at Ladbrokes.
“For the past eight years, I’ve been with Superbet. I am truly excited to begin this new chapter of my career with Entain and I sincerely hope to bring value to the fantastic team that has led STS to the very top in Poland.”
