Stats Perform secures UK football data deal
Data provider to supply player-specific statistics to sportsbooks for English and Scottish football

Stats Perform has secured the rights to collect and distribute data for specialist and player-specific betting markets for the Premier League, English Football League and Scottish Premier League.
The multi-year deal, which was brokered with Football DataCo (FDC), the company that manages the league’s collective data rights, will see Stats Perform provide official data to sportsbook and fantasy operators on player-focused markets such as shots, passes and tackles.
Stats Perform said it will bring “never-before-seen patterns and understanding” via its AI-powered insights, and will provide media rights holders with player data to be augmented during broadcasts.
The partnership between Stats Perform and FDC will also see the creation of FDC Labs via a collaboration with Second Spectrum – the official player tracking partner of the NBA and MLS.
Stats Perform’s deal does not encroach on the five-year agreement Genius Sports signed with the FDC in 2019 to secure the official betting and media data rights for the divisions, as it focuses on individual player data.
Genius Sports CEO Mark Locke said the move to welcome Stats Perform into the ecosystem was a positive one.
Locke continued: “It’s great to have Stats Perform inside the official data tent. This deal keeps official data at the heart of betting on UK football.”
Alex Rice, Stats Perform’s chief rights officer, said: “We are honoured that our investment in collecting and distributing the fastest, most accurate detailed event data with the utmost professionalism has again been recognised by Football DataCo.
“[We] are excited to use our trusted data as the foundation to drive even deeper connections to some of the world’s greatest teams and players, through our FDC Data Labs partnership.”
Adrian Ford, FDC general manager, added: “The opta data brand is strong and the business has a deep understanding of football, vital factors for our Leagues who want the best and most trusted data.
“Stats Perform will build on these strong foundations and continue to drive innovation through our FDC Labs partnership, using data to tell new stories for fans who have an appetite for greater insight into the beautiful game.”
