Star Sports lands industry stalwart as first chairman
Former Sportingbet head of media Russ Wiseman links up with Ben Keith-led operator to bolster senior team
Star Sports has appointed industry veteran Russ Wiseman as its first-ever chairman.
Wiseman will be tasked with heading up the senior management team as the company looks to expand its portfolio of offerings and operations.
He joins having left Sportingbet as head of media in December 2022 following 12 years at the firm.
Prior to that he spent nearly seven years at Betdaq working in PR and as a business development director.
Wiseman also served as public relations director at Sportech, from February 1999 until March 2004.
Ben Keith, the founder of Star Sports, said: “We are thrilled to be announcing Russ as our chairman. He has a wealth of experience and is a valuable addition to our senior management team.
“I look forward to working with him personally over to coming years, adding to the existing portfolio of businesses of businesses we’ve built and complementing the work we’ve already achieved at Star Sports and Playbook Engineering,” he added.
